Theology

I am crucified by your dogma
I am choking on your beliefs
Asphyxiated by your Hail Maries
And your wafer-thin rosary beads
This is my body broken for you
Without asking, you take and you eat
I will not laud nor will I honor
Anything that dishonors me
I won’t worship your silver slivers
So while you bend on bloody knees
I will place my palms together
And praise my pecan deity.
